It can be a bit tricky to mount your bike garage or bike cover – especially when it's windy or the bike is close to other things. Here's a simple method that makes it easier and faster to pull your bike garage correctly over the bike. The method can be used for both regular bikes, electric bikes, 2-wheel cargo bikes , 3-wheel cargo bikes , scooters and motorcycles.
How to properly pull your bike garage over your bike
Follow this step-by-step guide to get the best fit and avoid unnecessary wear and tear on both the bike and the cover:
Start at the front wheel/front end Place the bike garage over the front wheel or front end of the bike so that the front of the cover fits correctly.
Carefully pull the cover back. Gently pull the bike cover backwards over the front fork, front end and handlebars. Be careful not to get the cover caught on the handlebars, brake levers, basket or other equipment.
Slide the cover over the saddle. Continue pulling the bike cover backwards so that it lies evenly over the saddle and, if applicable, the luggage rack.
Cover the rear wheel/rear end Pull the cover all the way down over the rear wheel or rear end so that the bike is covered from front to back.
Secure the bike garage correctly Finish by making sure the cover fits snugly under the front and back. Use straps or elastic to prevent the wind from catching.
Additional tips for easier installation
Stand on the leeward side if it is windy.
Have the chain lock in place before putting on the cover.
